Calling All Movie Lovers and Communities!

In 2026 Ohio will sizzle with movie magic as communities showcase their stories and contributions to the big screen by showing movies made by, starring or affiliated with Ohioans or linked to Ohio. Want to participate, but don’t know where to begin? Here are a few suggestions:

  • Assemble an OGTTM planning committee or volunteer to help one in your community.  These may be led by CVBs (Convention and Visitors Bureaus), theater owners, historical society members, local civic and business leaders, film buffs, professors/teachers.
  • Contact a local venue to suggest they host an OGTTM event, if there isn’t one already on our list. Possible locations might include commercial theaters, historic and art house theaters, drive-ins, as well as a nontraditional location such as a town square or park that shows outdoor movies, civic centers, auditoriums.
  • Plan parties and activities and invite family and friends early so they can make travel plans to be in Ohio for Ohio Goes to the Movies.
